Ah, the Nordstrom sale. Love it or hate it, it’s impossible to ignore — and it’s time for my annual, somewhat half-hearted roundup. Check out last year’s post for a more thorough explanation of the sale, as I did a pretty good job covering it then.
I’ve seen more pushback than usual this year, and I think it’s attributable to a few factors. Everyone’s social media feeds are oversaturated with bloggers selling their favorite items — and it’s often a bunch of women recommending the same exact thing. Additionally, it’s hard for many of us to justify spending big bucks on new clothing for financial and environmental reasons. Lastly, stuff sells out really quickly, so it can be annoying to find something you love and then realize it’s gone.
So where does that leave me? I fall somewhere in the middle — I don’t go crazy over the sale, but I also don’t hate it. If you’re smart about it, you can find some great basics that’ll last you through winter and beyond. Why did I wait until the sale was almost over to write this post? Because, dear reader, I am lazy. Better late than never, am I right? Without further ado, here are the items I bought last sale that I’m still loving. If you shop through the links below, I may receive affiliate credit for any purchases you make. Let’s go!
Perfect for layering in fall weather, and not see-through! I give it two thumbs up. I’m wearing a large in this picture.
I’m cheating a bit here, because I didn’t buy these during the sale last year. I passed on them because I didn’t want to spend $73 on leggings and then bought them for full freakin’ price earlier this year. Don’t be like me. (Note: The exact pair that I’m wearing isn’t online right now, so I linked a nearly identical one. Wearing XL.)
These leggings are pretty much loved universally by bloggers, but it’s for a good reason. I’ve probably gotten at least 50 wears out of ’em since I purchased them, and they aren’t lint-covered or faded. That’s pretty impressive. Wearing a large in these.
Did you shop the sale? If so, what did you think?
