When my family moved to Wesley Chapel in 1997, it wasn’t much more than a couple of subdivisions and a lot of fields. Growing up, we’d sometimes visit downtown Tampa, but there wasn’t much to do except for a handful of restaurants and a lot of office buildings. So when Oxford Exchange opened in 2012, it was a big freakin’ deal. It looked like a space you’d find in a huge city like New York or Los Angeles, but it was local.
During the summer of 2015, we found out we’d be starting our marriage in the Fort Lauderdale area instead of our hometown as we planned. I can’t lie to you –– I wept because I was scared. I’d only be four hours from home, but Fort Lauderdale and Wesley Chapel are very, very different places. Nearly three years since we got that phone call, we’ve moved back home, and I wanted to share more about our reasoning with y’all!
