The Under $25 Colorful Plaid Scarf I’m Loving This Winter

I’m not the biggest fan of cold weather, but I love winter fashion. I don’t get much chance to wear scarves and jackets here in Tampa. However, I decided I wanted a colorful plaid scarf for a recent trip to Charleston. When I started searching for the perfect option, I was pleasantly surprised to find one on Amazon with great reviews (4.6 out of 5 stars) that was under $25. It comes in 16 colors and is available on Amazon Prime, so I had it two days after ordering.

Colorful Plaid Scarf Review

I knew I wanted an oversized scarf with fringe, but wasn’t sure where to start the search. After looking at a few boutiques, everything I found was either out of my budget or wouldn’t arrive in time. Ordering clothing and accessories on Amazon can be hit-or-miss, so I wasn’t sure what to expect when I found the Yatemiole Women’s Cashmere Big Coloured Checked Scarf Winter Warm Wrap Scarf. I was overwhelmed by all of my options when I looked at the listing, which is always a good problem. I ordered two colorways to decide which I liked better and chose “Pattern 8” (the fifth image on the graphic below). I’m tempted to go back for more colors because I’m so impressed with the one I got.

The scarf measures 84.6″ x 13.8″, and it’s oversized. It’s so big that I accidentally dragged it on the ground and ended up with a scarf full of leaves and dirt, which wasn’t fun. I think it’d feel even more proportional if I were taller (I’m 5’2″), but I don’t mind the length at my height. It weighs 0.71 pounds, making it pretty lightweight. I don’t ever feel like it’s too heavy when I’m wearing it.

Care Instructions

I haven’t had to wash my scarf yet, but the product listing recommends hand washing with cool or cold water. You can add a small amount of soap and table salt to help prevent the colors from running, then lay it out to dry. This is one of my only drawbacks because I hate handwashing clothes. I honestly might take my chance in the washing machine when the time comes.

I haven’t had a chance to wear the scarf in below-freezing temperatures, but it kept me warm when it was in the high 30s to low 40s Fahrenheit. It’s pretty thick, and I think the large size would help protect you from the elements. The bonus is that you’ll look cute, regardless of how cold it is.

This was the biggest selling point for me. In my opinion, the scarf is a steal at this price point. I get compliments every time I wear it. Strangers stopped me on the street in Charleston to ask where it was from. This colorful plaid scarf isn’t an investment piece, but I expect it to last me a long time. SHOP IT HERE.
