I’ve shared before that I didn’t wear makeup regularly until I was in college. While I love a full face, sometimes I miss the effortlessness of getting ready and not dedicating time to a makeup routine. That’s where tinted moisturizer comes in for me. If it’s for sale, I’ll try it — that’s why I’m so excited to share this Saie Slip Tint review. I’ve also written about the Rare Beauty tinted moisturizer and the Ilia skin tint. Saie has dethroned both brands as my go-to tinted moisturizer, but there are some downsides that I plan to cover. First, let’s look at the basics.
Saie Slip Tint Review
I want to note that the product is also gluten- and cruelty-free. I’m often skeptical of “clean” products because they can be a marketing buzzword. Still, I will say that Saie has been recognized for its sustainability efforts, which makes me feel better about purchasing from the company. Now, to the fun part — my honest thoughts!
I picked up Saie Slip Tint after seeing rave reviews on social media, and my first impression was that I was shocked at how much my skin glowed. I have oily skin, so I’m usually skeptical of dewy products. This one is different, though. I don’t feel like I look shiny. Instead, my skin is slightly enhanced.
I tend to wear tinted moisturizer by itself at home or running errands. If I have actual plans, I layer it with MAC Studio Fix Powder Plus, which has been my go-to powder since college. So far, I’m impressed with how light it feels on my skin, and I love that it also contains SPF. Of course, no product is perfect. Let’s get into some of the things I didn’t love.
Saie Slip Tint Cons
SCENT: This was only mildly annoying for me, but the moisturizer has a particular smell reminiscent of Play-Doh. I don’t care much, but if you’re sensitive to fragrance, you may struggle with Saie Slip Tint.
CLEANSING: The product can stick to your face because of the SPF IT CONTAINS. I use makeup remover on the days I use this, and I wouldn’t trust it to come off with my regular face wash. This is in direct contrast to the Rare Beauty tinted moisturizer, which washes off easily.
SHADE RANGE: I saved my most significant gripe for last. I’m a shade nine in the Saie Slip Tint, and only two shades darker than mine are available. I have friends who would struggle to use this product because the darkest shade isn’t that dark. I’d love to see Saie release more inclusive shades because it is a great product.
This was my first Saie purchase, but it won’t be my last. If you have a tinted moisturizer you love, I’d love to hear from you in the comments! I’m constantly on the hunt for new products to try.
Thank you for the insightful review! It’s great to hear your honest thoughts on the Saie Slip Tint. The detailed pros and cons give a well-rounded perspective, making it easier for readers to make an informed decision. The issues with scent and shade range are definitely points worth considering. Looking forward to more of your honest product reviews in the future!
Best,
