If you were obsessed with makeup as a child, I seriously envy you. I had the best upbringing, but my parents didn’t let me wear makeup pretty much at all. I finally decided to just start sneaking my own makeup once I had an allowance, but unfortunately, I had NO IDEA WHAT I WAS DOING, and it was obvious. I searched high and low for a picture of me wearing LIME GREEN eyeshadow as a teenager, but I must’ve deleted it from all social channels. Thankfully, I still have a reminder of how I used to wear my eyeshadow, which was from lid to brow. No blending needed (or so I told myself).
Everyone has character flaws, although I like to think of my flaws as lovable quirks. But 2018 is my year of no more excuses and trying my best, so I’m going to try my best to fix my one of the most annoying things about me: my chronic lateness. I even wrote a story for Bustle about what to do when you’re always late and stressed out. It’s bad, fam. Thankfully, the team at JORD Watches sent me a gorgeous wooden watch, and it’s convincing me to actually put my somewhat obnoxious plan into action.
Happy Tuesday, y’all! It’s been such a busy two weeks, and I’m finally taking a bit of a break. I spent today at Starbucks (work from home perks) and on the couch. It was actually a relief to not do anything after work, since we’ve spent so much time catching up with old friends now that we’re back in town. One of the fun things that happened during these busy weeks was a photoshoot with Emily Staubus, an INCREDIBLE photographer who I went to college with! She’s a photographer by night and engineer by day, which is honestly like Hannah Montana but a million times cooler.
Happy Thursday! This week has been moving so slowly but also been so busy, which is strange! I just feel like the days are flying by as Vagner job hunts and we both get settled in and catch up with old friends. Today, I’m sharing the perfect spring shoe. I seriously bought it in three colors because I love it that much! They’re cute, easy to wear, and best of all, affordable!
Breaking news: I’m not a size 0.
Of course, if you’ve ever seen a picture of me, you’re probably like, “well, duh.” I’m usually a size 12 or 14 at most stores, and I go from medium to XL depending on sizing. It sounds silly to say I’ve struggled with this when the average American woman is a size 14, so I’m in good company, but I’ve tried pretty much every weight loss scheme. When I was a teenager, I saw a therapist because my relationship with food was disordered, and I coped in some unhealthy ways.
Can you guys believe it’s basically spring?! I honestly feel like both fall and winter lasted way too long, so you won’t find any complaints here. Even though it doesn’t get super cold in Florida, I still spend most of my time inside … aka inside a mall.
I’ve been trying to save up for our move (we’re moving two weeks from Thursday!) so I haven’t made a ton of big-ticket purchases, which has caused me to get creative with the things I have bought. I’ve also prioritized buying things I’ll actually use instead of just buying something because it’s on sale.
